BIP Mission Statement

To promote a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment for pickleball on Bainbridge Island, Washington, the birthplace of the sport, while creating opportunities for friendly competitive play. The purpose also includes working to build and maintain high quality, year round, publicly available courts, honoring the history and traditions of the game, and enhancing the culture of this unique Bainbridge Island sport.

Our Vision for Pickleball on Bainbridge Island

  • The Lower Courts at Battle Point Park

BIP has raised money and partnered with Bainbridge Island Parks District to convert two tennis courts into six dedicated pickleball courts for a total of twelve pickleball courts. Improvements will include a new surface, new nets and fencing. We hope to complete the project in time for play in the Summer of 2025.

  • Covered Courts

The desire to play pickleball does not diminish as the daylight hours shorten and rain slickens the courts. It is our goal to raise funds for lighted covered courts for the people of and visitors to Bainbridge Island and facilitate the play of pickleball year-round.
