Where We Play

The Founders Courts

The Founders Courts, located at Battle Point Park (11299 Arrow Point Dr NE
Bainbridge Island, WA 98110
), are dedicated to Joel Pritchard, Barney McCallum and Bill Bell, the founders of pickleball, where the game was invented.

After years playing on tennis courts island residents and avid pickleball players Bill Walker and Clay Roberts spearheaded a drive to raise money for dedicated pickleball courts on Bainbridge Island. In 2021, six dedicated pickleball courts, The Founders Courts, were opened to public with the vision that all are free-to-play.

Throughout the year Bainbridge Island Pickleball facilitates organized play, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon (and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays, May 1 through September 30), except holidays. The schedule and order of play for the Founders Courts can be found here.
